The Swedish Corporate Governance Code has emerged as a complement to laws and regulations, to safeguard that a company - which is not managed by its owners - is actually run with these owners’ best interests at heart. 

Swedish corporate governance has close links to the international, but do differ when it comes to the view of the ownership role, distribution of responsibilities and authority between the various corporate bodies, board composition and the auditor’s role.
